Here’s a piece from the Globe about the comparative return on investment (as it were) offered by the reading of literary fiction and various other cultural/“entertainment” options available.

Its a nicely crafted piece, well-focussed and sure to speak fairly directly to any real reader (despite one or two interesting assumptions…).

But still, how often does one see the case for the liberating effect of moral questioning made in the main-stream media?
